James J. Ferry, James Kelly and John O'Donnell fly out of Newark and land next morning in the Eternal City. The O'Donnell had been there before, but this was the first time to Rome for JJF and JEK.

Went to a concert with Pope John Paul II.

.Kelly climbed the 400 steps to the top of the dome of Saint Peter's Basilica.

From Rome by train, overnight in Milano, then on to Paris for two nights. Flew out of Beauvais Airport, an old WWII aerodrome, on to Dublin. Met Seamus Clarke and Margaret. In Dublin Westin for a long weekend, and then drive north to Donegal. Stopped at Omagh Folk Park Museum to look at exhibit of the famine time and the replica of the ships that took so many away from Ireland.

Stayed in Rosman B and B in Dunfangaghy. Picture at left is view from Rosman House over New Lake, Muckish Mountain in the background.

Visited all in Falcarragh and Letterkenny. On to London for one night before flying home. Dinner there with Nuala Clarke.
