Rome,
Paris, Dublin, Donegal, London
Winter Trip 2004
James J. Ferry, James Kelly and John
O'Donnell fly out of Newark and land next morning in
the Eternal City. The O'Donnell had been there before,
but
this was the first time to Rome for JJF and JEK.
Went to
a concert with Pope John Paul II.
.Kelly climbed the 400
steps to the top of the dome of Saint Peter's Basilica.
From Rome by train, overnight in Milano, then on to Paris
for two nights. Flew out of Beauvais Airport, an old WWII
aerodrome, on to Dublin. Met Seamus Clarke and Margaret.
In Dublin Westin for a long weekend, and then drive north
to Donegal. Stopped at Omagh Folk Park Museum to look at
exhibit of the famine time and the replica of the ships
that took so many away from Ireland.
Stayed
in Rosman B and B in Dunfangaghy. Picture at left is view
from Rosman House over New Lake, Muckish Mountain in the
background.
Visited all in Falcarragh and Letterkenny. On
to London for one
night
before flying home. Dinner there with Nuala Clarke.
