War II began. He was unable to return home. It would be seven
years before he'd get back to Philadelphia. At first he stayed
with the McGinley's, his mother's kin,in Ballyness outside
Falcarragh, then he stayed in Corcreggan, near Dunfanaghy,
with his father's
relatives.
