Assignments


• Writing assignment # 1: Summarize your college learning experiences to date and your career objectives. What do you perceive as your strengths and weaknesses? Discuss potential issues of analysis for you seminar paper. What topic will you research? Write up timetable, calendar for accomplishing this research. Refer to text as an example. 500 words.

• Presentation assignment #1 - Prepare a two minute presentation with power point AV (no more than 4 slides) discussing your research topic, motives for its selection, methodologies you intend to use in your research, and why they are appropriate for you particular research question.

• Writing assignment # 2: Describe your topic (200- 300 words minimum). In addition, list your key search terms, list search engines, indexes you will use; interlibrary loan requests. 500 words total

• Writing assignment # 3: Submit a preliminary thesis statement, brief introductory paragraph and substantial outline review of your paper with briefly annotated bibliographic references. 500 words, 20 item outline, 15-25 scholarly annotated references.

• Editorial assignments - Substantive editing, editing for clarity, copyediting, proofreading, galley editing.

• Final Draft of research paper (Look at Rubric for research paper)

• Presentation of 'Work in Progress' - max 13 slide PP deck including no less than 6 graphic slides (photos, charts, drawings etc), and no less than 5 outline slides. Plan on 10- minute presentation, and 10-minute Q and A. (See rubric for Oral Presentation)

• Final Paper - publish research paper to classmates and to college.
